John Carpenter's return with The Ward

In a thank god its been to long story. Seems legendary director John Carpenter is making a return with "The Ward".

The legendary John Carpenter ("Halloween," "The Thing") is finally returning to the big screen with the psychological thriller "The Ward" for Echo Lake Entertainment reports the trades.

Doug Mankoff, Mike Marcus, Peter Block and Andy Spaulding are producing. The film is scheduled to begin shooting in May.

The project marks Carpenter's first film since 2001's "Ghosts of Mars" (a Terrible Movie) . He's also in development on prison film "Riot" starring Nicolas Cage and gangster flick "The Prince."
