Friday the 13th Kills Everything in its Path on Friday's Box Office

Friday the 13th Kills Everything in its Path on Friday's Box Office

Jason's back and in a bigger way than even most of us expected. A MONSTER $19.3 million dollars on Friday. The largest opening R-Rated horror/slasher pic gross on day one ever!! Now industry insiders are guessing somewhere north of $50 million dollars by the end of the weekend. And now visions of a possible $100 million dollar take is certainly possible. Though horror movies have a record of dropping off severly in week two. Still, think this is better than even we expected. And we probably won a sequel off of day one. Least I would think. Look at the previous opening weekends. Its got several of the movies almost beat on the first day for their entire gross. Among theater averages yesterday, “Friday the 13th” also had one of the highest among all pics playing with $6,215.
