Been a while since a horror movie (sort of) opened with anything like Brad Pitt's World War Z. The Friday totals are rolling in and the movie has killed the box office with a monster $25 million dollar opening.
That's good for 2nd place (we can tell it's summer time). Monsters University took advantage of the kids being out of school with a huge $30 million. Both Monsters and War are cruising toward $50 million and up weekends.
In 3rd place Man Of Steel is still the overall world wide movie. Raking in a additional $12.5 million Friday and will probably do another $30 million total for the weekend. It's worldwide is up around $345 million.
