Monsters U, World War Z hold Strong at Box Office

According to box office estimates Monsters and Zombies rule the box office for Friday (starting the new box office weekend).

Monsters University is holding steady at 1) with a large $14 million haul.  That raises it's total to $139 million in the USA and $193 million worldwide.

World War Z is still strong with another $8.9 million dollars.  Which is good for 4th place behind new action flick White House Down.  Which grabbed $9 million.  White House Down may pull around $30 million for it's opening weekend.  That's going to be 3rd (maybe)(World War Z is only $200,000 behind of 3rd).  War Z has grossed at total of $102 million in the USA and another $49 million overseas.  A strong $151 million haul overall.

The Man of Steel continues to be strong.  It swooped in with another $6 million on it's way to around $20 million for the weekend.  It has grossed $233 million in the USA and $180 overseas.  Man Of Steel is now the largest grossing Superman movie ever and has $422 million overall.

The female team up The Heat has second at $13.6 million.

None of the weekend totals have a per screen average that is just off the charts.
